In Q1 2022, the top beauty retail apps on the iOS platform in the United States demonstrated varying trends in weekly downloads and active users. Below is an overview of the performance of these apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Ulta Beauty: Makeup & Skincare experienced a notable fluctuation in weekly downloads. Starting with approximately 76K downloads in late December, the app saw a decline to around 33K in early February, before gradually climbing back to about 48K by the end of March. The app maintained a solid base of weekly active users, starting at 561K and ending the quarter at roughly 498K.

My Bath & Body Works | My B&BW showed a similar trend with weekly downloads, beginning at around 63K and dipping to approximately 25K in late January. However, it saw an uptick in March, closing the quarter at about 30K. The active user base showed a slight decrease from 370K to 303K over the same period.

Sephora US: Makeup & Skincare started with 46K downloads at the end of December, dropping to around 24K in late January. It then experienced a steady increase, reaching nearly 38K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 370K and ending the quarter at 389K.

IPSY: Personalized Beauty had a more modest download rate, starting at 10.8K and varying between 7K and 12K throughout the quarter. The active user count for IPSY was fairly steady, starting at 186K and ending at 166K.

Think Dirty – Shop Clean showed an initial spike in downloads to around 21K in early January, followed by a decrease to about 5.8K by the end of March. The active user base for Think Dirty also saw a decline from 122K to approximately 113K over the quarter.
